Voucher redemption

Voucher redemptions are a direct success signal for postcards. When a recipient uses their individual code in the Shopify shop, PostPal can attribute the redemption to the matching mailing. This makes campaign performance and revenue measurable.

Voucher redemptions show which printed codes were used in the Shopify shop. They are one of the clearest response signals for direct mail.

How attribution is created:

  1. PostPal creates individual codes for a mailing.
  2. The code is printed on the postcard.
  3. The recipient redeems it in Shopify.
  4. PostPal attributes the redemption to the mailing.

This shows which campaigns were not only sent, but also triggered revenue.

A mailing can also have multiple static voucher codes. The static-code table shows orders and net order revenue per code for the selected date range. Net revenue is the order amount excluding tax, not the discount amount. Orders using multiple configured codes appear in multiple rows, so those rows must not simply be added to obtain overall statistics.

Static codes from the Design Editor or the campaign form are the better choice: every mailing then knows which recipient received which code. With two or more vouchers in a mailing you filter by "Gutscheine" at the top, and every metric below refers to the selected codes. Because a static code is on many cards, a redemption counts for the buyer's audience, or under "Nicht zugeordnet" (unassigned) without a card of their own. The static-code table remains for codes configured in the backoffice.

Codes are matched against available order or Klaviyo data without regard to letter case. Changing the configured codes recalculates existing orders within the tracking window, including ended mailings. Missing historical data can only be included if the integration still makes it available.

Frequently asked questions

How does PostPal detect a voucher redemption?

The printed code is redeemed in Shopify. PostPal attributes that code to the campaign or mailing.

Can I export used codes?

Yes. You can download voucher codes for mailings and use them for analysis.

Can I evaluate multiple static codes per mailing?

Yes. Static codes can be configured for a mailing in the backoffice. Mailing performance shows orders and net revenue per code for the selected date range. An order using multiple codes appears under each code, but only once in the overall statistics.

How do I evaluate several static voucher codes from the design?

Static codes from the Design Editor or the campaign form are evaluated like individual vouchers. With two or more vouchers in a mailing you pick them in the "Gutscheine" filter, and cards, costs, conversion rate, ROAS, CPO and audience performance follow. A redemption counts for the buyer's audience. If someone redeems the code without a card of their own, the order appears under "Nicht zugeordnet" (unassigned). When several vouchers are on the same card and you select only some of them, only the "Gutschein" view is available, because an order without a code cannot be assigned to just one of them.

Why are individual codes better?

Individual codes make attribution more precise because every redemption can be assigned to a mailing or recipient context.
