Payment method
The payment method defines how you pay in PostPal. New campaigns, automailings and API flows preselect credit card: the card is charged only once the proof is released, see credit card payment. Prepayment, billing through credit and, for enabled accounts, invoice are also available. You manage the default for prepayment, credit or invoice in the account settings, and your cards under Settings → Payments & invoice address → Credit card. The available methods, their names and discounts come from the latest published price list, see also API flow billing.
The payment method defines how you pay in PostPal.
Available methods:
- Credit card - the default for new campaigns, automailings and API flows. You pick a saved card right in the form and agree to the charge. The card is charged only once the proof is released, with that mailing's final amount. Not available for campaigns with a Shopify source. See credit card payment.
- Prepayment - you pay in advance by bank transfer.
- Credit - mailings are charged against the account balance you topped up.
- Invoice - billing by invoice, once PostPal enables it for your account.
You manage the default for prepayment, credit or invoice in the account settings under Payments & invoice address, separately from the invoice address. Credit card cannot be saved as the default there: selecting it shows your cards below. Pick the card a campaign uses in the campaign.
Selecting Credit shows your available balance and any reserved funds. Use Top up credit to open Stripe Checkout. Selecting Prepayment shows the bank details and your company name as the transfer reference within that option.
Campaigns and API flows: Both offer the same payment methods as far as the published price list includes them. The method selected there applies to that campaign or flow only and does not change your account setting. See API flow billing for more.

How are payment method and credit connected?
With credit, mailings are billed against the balance you topped up in advance. With credit card, each mailing is paid directly when it is released, without credit.
Where do I change my payment method?
Manage the default for prepayment, credit or invoice in the account settings under Payments & invoice address. Manage your cards on the same page under Credit card; which card a campaign uses is chosen in the campaign.
Can I bill an API flow by invoice?
Yes, if PostPal has enabled invoice for your account and the published price list offers it. See API flow billing for details.
Why is invoice missing?
Invoice is not enabled for new accounts. Contact PostPal if you want to pay by invoice.
